Our objective is to provide a structured/affordable learning environment for any licensed skydiver interested regardless of experience level. In15 years and nearly 8000 jumps I have learned one thing, no one person has all the answers. As students we often receive information that sometimes conflicts. Sometimes it’s different instructors saying the same thing using different words. Other times different schools of thought influence what is communicated. Finally, we have all encountered the phenomenon of the self imposed expert who is more than willing to share his/her opinion with everyone and anyone (regardless of wether they want to hear it or not) which is often based on misinformation, more opinion than experience and just stuff they like to repeat that they have heard over the years. Such examples are as follows:
-
1.For diving exits you have to put your arms out front and your feet on your butt.
-
3.Never look at grips, always keep your eyes locked into the center.
-
5.Collapsing your slider makes no difference what-soever in the flight and performance of your canopy.
Many many more persist, but we’ll take them one at a time. The purpose of Skilz Camp and this website is to provide objective information to help all skydivers seperate the information from the mis-information.
