These are all projects that Doug took part in. LEAVING YESTERDAY
The Highway One Ensemble was brought together by lyricist Nancy Dunn to record this achingly beautiful collection of songs. The group features such luminaries as Gerry O'Beirne on guitar, Kevin Burke on fiddle and Paul McCandless (of Oregon) on woodwinds. Most of the spellbinding vocals were done by Kate Brubeck with a few haunting selections sung by Doug Adamz (of Light Rain). The world class recording is rich and liquid; a dreamscape of acoustic guitars, bass, oboe, English Horn, violin, cello, harmonium, tipple, penny whistle and just a tasteful touch of percussion. If you ever plan to drive the California coast on Highway One, north of Santa Barbara, through Big Sur and on to Mendicino, this would be the perfect soundtrack for your journey.

Doug sang and played guitar, fiddle and harmonica on certain selections on this album. EVERY SONG THE MOCKINGBIRD KNOWS
Gene Keller's Recipe: Serve up the Feast of Music like an enraptured chef. Cook up a gumbo of elemental border rhythms, vivid lyrics & articulated vocals. Throw in the pepper of intelligence & the sage of insight. Sprinkle on a dash of humor & a pinch of humility. Savor the flavors!

The Mockingbird, mimicus polyglottus, is State Bird for five states; also, some mockingbirds can mimic as many as 250 calls. EVERY SONG THE MOCKINGBIRD KNOWS contains 13 acoustic songwriter folk songs from Gene Keller's state of mind.

Recorded at Marshall Studios in Marin County CA, overlooking Tomales Bay, the songs capture the solace & the inspiration of that horizon. The CD was produced by Doug Adamz: composer, multi-instrumentalist, world music star, & friend. Keller & Adamz set out to achieve several goals, though primarily to make something unique yet familiar.

They took the title tune as the unifying principle for this project, so you'll hear many influences made new by the power of Keller's lyrics & Adamz' accompaniments. COMING TO MY SENSES
Monica Gomez has released three captivating collections of acoustic music -- Storm Before the Calm in 1997, Still Life in 1998, and Coming to My Senses in 2003.

Her songs brim with substance, startling imagery, and intelligent appeal – and the uncluttered simplicity of her bare bones recording style preserves the intimacy of live performance.
Her music goes straight to your heart via intelligent lyrics, powerful solo vocals andintricate acoustic guitar.

Doug sang harmonies and played supporting guitar on the live recordings of ‘Leaving on a Jet Plane’ and ‘Dancing Till the Cows Come Home’. MIGRATION
by GYPSY CARAVAN
1999. Thirteen songs capturing the distinct and eclectic sound of this dancing tribe.
From explosive drums and mesmerizing horns to passionate flamenco guitar (Victor El Agua) and the lyrical melodies of violin (Doug Adams) and Indian veena (Jeff Trott)--
dance down this modern gypsy road with us on our MIGRATION.

The Gypsy Caravan is an eclectic troupe of tribal bellydancers and musicians, founded in 1991 by artistic director Paulette Rees-Denis. They are a contemporary family, urban berbers, dedicated to performing Middle Eastern and North African inspired rhythms and dances.
Today they perform a fusion style of tribal bellydance that reflects the ancient longing to celebrate community spirit. The name pays tribute to the nomadic Gypsies and tribal folk who carried their song and dance with them as they traveled. The Caravan musicians play a combination of traditional and modern instruments such as the dumbek, davul, tar, and djembe, zurna, mizmar, arghul, and ney to make an exhilarating and often mesmerizing sound.
Doug played violin on this album and composed the piece Gypsy Rain.

Nancy Terzian and Doug Blumer are the fine songwriters who led this group. They share the singing and songwriting on ‘A Blessing and a Curse’.

Doug Adamz toured with this group in 1997 and 1998 and added his violin to this album. A BLESSING AND A CURSE

SINGS HEART SONGS
&
SONGS THAT MAKE THE JUKE BOX PLAY
“I’m really proud to be the fiddler on these albums. Tom is my favorite contemporary country songwriter. He understands the genre thoroughly; the humor in the blues; the turn of the phrase. He writes lines like, ‘I’m looking forward to the day that I can look back’, ‘I’m so tired of being lonely alone’, ‘brand new memories’, ‘You use to live it up, now you can’t live it down’: classic country stuff.
He put together a great band. Everything about these albums seems vintage. There’s not a false note in the look or the sound of them. You can tell Tom loves doing this music.
Tom’s albums got many great reviews, notably one by Frank Goodman of PureMusic.com
Tragically, I’m not sure you can buy these albums now. I did find them on Amazon, going for about $45.00 apiece....and worth it! You can hear samples. “

Gary Floyd first emerged in the public consciousness with Austin, TX, political punkers the Dicks. After their dissolution in 1985 Gary started Sister Double Happiness. They wallowed in furious, blues-tinged hard rock fueled by Floyd's dynamic belting vocals. After putting out an album for Reprise called Heart Mind the group broke up in 1995. Then came the Gary Floyd Band, which released the album Broken Angels in 1995.

Doug played some awesome fiddle parts on this raw, rough and soulful album. BROKEN ANGELS

DANA HUBBARD

“Dana Hubbard is a remarkable musician. One summer Dana asked me to play fiddle with him for a series of concerts he did at a winery in North California. One of those performances, ‘Gypsy Jam’, made it on to this nice live album”

“Yes, I was a Willful Sinner”. Wilson is incredible. He put together a six (at least) piece band; we all set up in Prairie Sun Recording Studio and rocked!
I played fiddle on most of the songs on this amazing album”

IF I SHOULD FALL TO THE FIELD
by
STEVE VON TIL

If I Should Fall to the Field is filled with urgent melodies and majestic crescendos of chiming guitars, cymbal crashes and distant vocal harmonies that lull behind Von Till's thick, weathered voice. Throughout, the songwriter's somber vocals are recorded with such breathy intensity it sounds as though each lyric were a whisper for only one listener to hear. He has clearly found the same powerful subtlety harnessed by Michael Gira, Mark Lanegan and Jeffrey Lee Pierce.
Doug played fiddle on some of the songs on this album.

THE TRAILER PARK RANGERS

Trailer Park Rangers’ debut album highlights the Americana-flavored traveling music, aka Road Music for the Mind, that the band is so well-known for. Frontman David T. Carter demonstrates his songwriting prowess, deep, lush vocals, and Chet Atkins style guitar picking, all of which is masterfully accompanied by pedal steel, violin, drums and upright bass. The radio-popular “Naples,” “Eileen” and “Someday” are effectively complemented by more bizarre numbers such as “Drag Queen” and “Who'll Put the Garbage Out Today?”
Doug played fiddle on David Carter’s meticulously crafted tunes

DR. ELMO
“I can’t help it, I think Dr. Elmo is really funny. Every once in awhile I write a song that’s wacky enough for him to sing; songs with the titles, ‘Texas Chainsaw Christmas’ , ‘Uncle Johnny’s Glass Eye’, ‘Texas Chainsaw Halloween’, ‘Haunted Hoedown’, and ‘The Witch and the Toad’. Laugh if you want (that is the point of these songs, after all), the good Dr. has gold records on his walls and has made these some of my best selling songs!
