There are only a few seats still available on the field trip. If you are planning to attend the trip, pre-registration is recommended.

This year’s field trip will be to the Solite Quarry, a late Triassic lacustrine deposit on the Virginia-North Carolina state line. The Solite Quarry is one of the world’s most productive Triassic insect localities, and has also produced numerous plants, trace fossils, and fishes. It is the type locality for the aquatic protorosaur Tanytrachelos and the gliding archosauromorph Mecistotrachelos.


Call For Papers
We invite student, professional, and avocational paleontologists to submit abstracts for proposed presentations on any topic related to vertebrate paleontology.
In your submission, please include the following information in this order:
1)Name, institution, mailing address, telephone number, and email for you and your co-presenters
2)Title of presentation
3)Abstract (300 words maximum; avoid citations)
4)Choose one of the following:
a.Oral presentation only
b.Oral or poster presentation
c.Poster presentation only
5)Any special AV needs
Both a PC with PowerPoint and a Macintosh with PowerPoint and Keynote will be available.

Hotel Information
The official hotel for the 2009 SEAVP meeting is the Dutch Inn in Collinsville, VA. Meeting participants are being offered a single rate of $45/night. There are a limited number of rooms at this rate. Call 276-647-3721 for reservations. Make sure you mention the SEAVP conference at the Virginia Museum of Natural History when making your reservation.

Museum Information
The Virginia Museum of Natural History is located at 21 Starling Avenue (US 58 Business), Martinsville, VA. Piedmont Triad International Airport (Greensboro, NC-GSO) is located approximately 45 miles south of Martinsville, and Roanoke Municipal Airport (ROA) is approximately 60 miles north; both airports are served by most major airlines and rental car services.
