Desert Backlight (Shown Above)had a very good year.In addition to winning a pastel award at the 33rd annual Phippen Museum Western Art Show last May, I entered it in the 14th annual New Mexico Pastel Society National Pastel Exhibition in November of 2007. From over 1100 entries, I took the Second Place ribbon. Quite an honor! To visit their site and to see some of the other great work that was on display, go here: www.pastelsnm.org. Desert Backlight also received Honorable Mention in the 2007 Pastel 100 competition and was featured on the cover of the contest sponsoring Pastel Journal Magazine in March.
