With a free weekend at the end of January, we decided to hop across the Channel and visit the charming city of Boulogne. Ollie’s passport was up to date, so he joined us for a bit of exploring.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boulogne-sur-Mershapeimage_4_link_0
An icon of Britishness known all over the world, and behind Sooz are the white cliffs of Dover.
Our hotel’s concierge was Victor, the Mynah. A brilliant bird, he spoke French very well!
We wnjoyed the winter sunshine in the old town.
A refreshing libation after a long walk. (And no, the stool isn’t covered with Ollie’s hair!)
When in France, do as the locals! Don tucked into his supper of snails.
Sooz also got into the local swing, sampling the local vin (and loading up the car with it, too!)
Although he enjoyed eating as much as the rest of us, Ollie preferred a run along the beach.
The happy family enjoying the refreshing sea breezes across the Channel.
Oliver was captivated by the charming local mademoiselles!
On the ferry trip back home, Grant went on the poop deck to get a breath of (very) fresh air!
