Millefiori is another technique that has been adapted to polymer clay. The first millefiori art I ever saw was in Nan Roche’s “The New Clay”. Her wonderful book features work by a host of millefiori artists, including Pier Voulkos, Ford and Forlano, Kathleen Dustin, Lindly Haunani, Kathy Amt...well, I could go on and on. The best millefiori analogy for me is - sushi! You make a roll and cut slices. In sushi, each slice looks the same. You can’t miniaturize (reduce) sushi, but you can reduce clay!
