York Jazz is now

8 years old

Thanks to you, the York Jazz supporter, we are able to continue our work.

However, commencing Wednesday 15th July York Jazz will only be performing TWICE A MONTH, but will be inviting guests from around the country on each and EVERY event at York Jazz, so keep an eye out on the listings so you don't miss when it is all happening. Even though York Jazz will not be holding its weekly jam session, York Jazzers fear not there will still be opportunities for musicians of all ages and abilities to try out their new ‘licks’ and ‘tricks’ on their instruments at most York Jazz Events.

The introduction of regular provides the opportunity to hear even more Jazz talent from around the Yorkshire area and also from around the country. Previous guests include Steve Waterman, Peter King, Alan Barnes and Mark Nightingale, etc. For full information on previous guests and on updates please follow the blog link!!!

The York Jazz house Band features James ‘the Voice of YJ’ Lancaster on Trumpet, Chris Moore on Piano, Dave Cook on Drums and Paul Baxter on Double Bass. All of these musicians work full time in the local, national and international music industry. Look on our blog to see what these fabulous musicians are involved in.

The York Jazz Scene is an intimate fellowship with great musicians working and playing hard within and around the city walls, so please look on our friend’s page for other nights of Jazz. See our blog for up to date information and news.
