About Us
Background
Our founder, Linda Oliver, had a serious, yet wonderful recovery from a severe bout with Fibromyalgia. Her daughter, Ashley, had a devastating car accident that did not leave her with a promising prognosis... She’s fine today, and living a fulfilling life. Due to overcoming these tragedies, Linda has provided an opportunity for women dealing with hard times to be uplifted by A Queen for a Day, and hopefully allow them to see the hope that is out there. The hope that SHE has.
Mission Statement
To be a leader in demonstrating love to others by bringing people together to join forces as volunteers as we motivate, equip and mobilize them to respond in time of crisis by bringing hope through compassionate action to empower the hopeless and brokenhearted.
Vision Statement
To be friendly leaders who convey love and compassion, by bringing people together in humanitarian forces of volunteers. We motivate, equip and mobilize them to respond in time of crisis by bringing hope through kindhearted action that encourages, equips and empowers the hopeless and brokenhearted.
Purpose and Goal
The purpose of A Queen for a Day is to help women come to the realization that cultural backgrounds, as well as present or past lifestyles, will not cause a person to be denied the love that is there for them. The central message shared by all volunteers is the way a person feels on the inside is more important than the outward appearance. The goal is to let women know that real beauty is shown through a woman’s personality, her character and commitment to her faith, family, and friends.
