I was excited to walk through the personal gardens of Claude Monet in Giverny.  So many of the vistas in the garden are now famous Monet paintings.  I came to the garden three years ago in the early spring, and was interested to see how the flowers and trees were different now that it was summer.  The main differenc
e was that the water lilies were in bloom!  We spent the whole morning wandering around the gardens, lily pond and into Monet’s house and studio.  In the afternoon, it was time to complete the circle and head back to Paris.  The perfect way to end the day was going to the Museé d’Orsay, were we saw the original paintings by Monet.

I took so many photos!  Here are a few to enjoy.

After walking through the garden all morning, I felt like I should have paint all over me - it felt so much like I was walking through the middle of a real Monet painting!

Just a few of my favorite paintings.

The museum is housed in a lovely converted train station.  The collection spans from 1848 to 1914 and includes many great impressionist masters including; Cézanne, Degas, Manet, Matisse, Monet, Pissarro, Renoir, Van Gogh and Toulouse-Lautrec.  I ate in the level 2 café which offers views of Paris through one of the huge window clocks.
