has been a professional photographer in New York City since 1975, A former actor, his career began while traveling in numerous national tours as Jesus in Godspell, Pippin in Pippin, Emcee in Cabaret.  His road tour hobby, shooting fellow cast member’s headshots, soon led to a constant stream of referrals in the city and within 5 years became known as one of New York’s most respected theatrical headshot photographers. (www.davidmorganphotography.com)  Today with more than 14,000 clients to his credit he is regarded a master of the craft and has appeared on television as the
leading purveyor of theatrical headshots in the nation.  

In the early 90’s his career took diversion when he shot a theatrical poster for the musical ‘Anything Goes’ (left), his first male nude, reminiscent of the late Herb Ritts’ iconic imagery.  

Soon after he was commissioned to create a poster for the legendary Saint-at-Large “White Party’.  The image of seven gym buddies tumbling from their underwear and boots was a sensation.  It  has since been called the most popular image of world gay culture.  His art for the original 2(x)ist Underwear (1992) packaging soon made him famous and he went on to shoot over twenty more lines of men’s garments.

His fine art photographs have appeared on calendars, greeting cards, posters, and his World Wide Web site, www.dmny.com, as well as in numerous compilations such as ‘Adonis, Masterpieces of Erotic Art’  The Male Nude, and the ‘A Hidden Love-Art and Homosexuality’ by Dominique Fernandez.  His two publications for St. Martin’s Press, ‘Basic Training’ and ‘Beach’ sold more than 20,000 copies and have moved on to soft-cover editions.  

In 1999 the New York Public library requested several collections of his works to be placed into the institution’s permanent collection.
