HOLYOKE CIVIC SYMPHONY

HOLYOKE CIVIC SYMPHONY

Welcome!
Bienvenidos! Welcome!
Cumpleaños Musicales means “musical birthdays” in Spanish. This year we celebrate the rich Hispanic culture of Holyoke, Massachusetts, our hometown. Each concert this season will include a work evoking the musical sounds of Spain or South America. Each concert also celebrates the birthday of a major composer: Samuel Barber’s centennial in October, and the bicentennials of Felix Mendelssohn in December, Frederic Chopin in March, and Robert Schumann in May.
No matter what your musical tastes are, I think you will find Holyoke Civic Symphony concerts to be both enjoyable and educational, with a consistently high level of musical excellence. All of our concerts feature an entertaining mixture of exciting and accessible new music, along with fresh interpretations of familiar classics. I invite you to share in all of our Cumpleaños Musicales!
