My, it was a year ago today that Kyler fell and hit his head which led us a few days later to the discovery of the tumor.  

Today is Kendrick’s birthday and it was at his party last year that Kyler took the spill.  It’s been a difficult year to say the least and this is a strange ‘anniversary’ to remember.  

Kyler’s spinal tap and bone marrow test went well, but it will be several days till we get final results.  The good news is that he finally got the Nintendo DS for which he has been waiting two months.  When they checked his blood before the test his white counts were great, his red counts had gone up a smidge, and his platelet counts had dipped down just a bit.  

His weight is going up.  He is now a full 35.2 lbs (16 k).  

He goes in Monday early for another MRI.  Tuesday we should have all the results back and sit down with the doctors to discuss the details of where we want to go next.  

We had a bunch of boys over for Kendrick’s birthday.  He had a great time.  We’re hoping he feels very special since there have been so many times this year that it’s been about Kyler.  I told him today he is halfway to 18.  The running joke in our family is my response to so many of his ‘when’ questions which has been, “Not till you’re 18”.  He is anxiously awaiting the release of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl version which comes out tomorrow.  He has enough birthday money to get a copy.    

Please be in prayer for us on Monday and Tuesday as we finish up test, get results, and plan a course of action.  Here’s a fun video clip from Nov. 2006.
