Hi friends,
This is Sandie writing this morning as Darrell has not had much time lately for updating his site. He’s off to his new job as of 5 weeks ago at USAA in Sacramento. He is still in the training phase and is really enjoying the experience so far. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for him in this journey.
So, it has been 4 months since we gave any news about Kyler. Yesterday, he had another MRI of his brain and then appointments with his oncologist and surgeon. Both report that his scans of the MRI look great! It was amazing to me to see his oncologist beam with excitement over Kyler’s health. This is the same lady who said to me 2 and a half years ago, “This is going to be hard on him and he might not make it.” When I asked how many other kids that she treated with his same tumor type had survived, she said, “none.” Yesterday she said several times, “I am so pleased with how well you are doing!” We have so much to be thankful for!
Both Kyler and Kendrick started school last week and they really like their teachers. Kyler is now in 2nd grade and Kendrick, a big 5th grader at Creekside Oaks Elementary.
I’ve also been busy as I am now working at our church, Emmaus Church Community, as their Community Activator. My position involves community events, compassion initiatives and team building. I am working there 30 hrs a week as well as continuing to sell my Mosaic Memories creations and be mom and wife.
Another blessing in our family was when two amazing photographers chose to give of their time and resources to capture priceless memories of Kyler and our family. The pic of Kyler at the top is one of these beautiful photos! I promise to post some more pics as well as their websites in the next post!
Thank you, friends and family, for being with us and for always supporting us these past years. We thank God who is the Healer and Provider for his children!
Love,
Sandie
