“I discovered the art of making sand forms on the dirtybeach river bank in London. Playing in the sand because I had nothing better to do, I redesigned the river bed. Aiming to make something interesting, just trying to pass the time and digging with my hands. I found it was great fun and sometimes people even throw money. I never set out to become a sand artist but now I am a full time carver.

“We built a sofa big enough to hold fifty people and we believe it to be the biggest sofa ever made out of sand by hand in the whole wide world....Ever. Special thanks to Dexter Fletcher.” It was marathon day in the capital and the crowds were there to cheer us on with this marathon effort on the Southbank.

THE FIRST LONDON STREET CARVER
Banksy built a sandy exhibit in a street art display which I bastardized with my signature piece. A sofa made of sand. I call it a representation of love and hate. Other people have taken to calling it, “the one what has red cushions.”
