On Saturday April 22, 2006, the national initiative Shaping America’s Youth® (S.A.Y.) convened the 2nd of six Town Meetings being held around the U.S. to address issues related to childhood obesity. America Speaks provided their innovative technology and processes for facilitating public dialogue, deliberation, and decision-making. The approach allowed over 600 widely diverse participants in the day-long event to thoughtfully engage the issues in a way that all voices, views, and ideas informed the resulting report (download PDF) and the ongoing work of S.A.Y.
