Well, it was even better than we’d anticipated. This silver anniversary vacation exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Although there were some negative surprises, they were all a part of a wonderfully intricate series of experiences that we wouldn’t change for the world (yes, ... even having a wallet stolen). We kept a running journal and posted some of the entries on this site and hope that it adequately conveys an overall view of our experiences on this trip.
For those considering a trip to Europe, particularly a long trip, we recommend highly each of the stops that we made. In particular, we recommend Ravello and Tuscany for a more relaxed introduction into the culture of Italy. ... not that three weeks makes us experts on the culture of Italy, those places just made us feel that we were getting more at the heart of what it was like to live in Italy.
