Microsoft Photo Story (This should be a free download-Bring your digital photos to life with Photo Story 3 for Windows)
Windows Movie Maker (With Movie Maker 2.1, you can create, edit, and share your home movies right on your computer.  If you have a PC, Movie Maker should have automatically been installed already) 
Media Player 11 (This should be a free download-Windows Media Player 11 for Windows XP offers great new ways to store and enjoy all your music, video, pictures)
Adobe Premiere (This is software you have to purchase)
Microsoft PowerPoint  (This is software you have to purchase)



Mac Users

(iLife Software Suite should be automatically installed on your Mac)

iMovie (iPhoto and Garageband work with iMovie for your pictures, music, and voice recording)

Scriptwork

Center for Digital Storytelling Scriptwork (Editing scripts for digital storytelling) “Writing a script for a digital story is a process. Guiding others in this scriptwork is a specific skill to learn. These featured stories are inteneded to assist with learning the script editing process of creating a digital story script. To shed some light on that process, we want to walk you through three scripts — from rough draft to final version.”

Audacity (Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.)



Miscellaneous

Splashcast (SplashCast enables anyone to create streaming media 'channels' that combine video, music, photos, narration, text and RSS feeds. These user-generated channels can be played and easily syndicated on any web site, blog, or social network page. When channel owners modify their channel, their content is automatically updated across all the web pages 'tuned' to that channel.)
