Ah, it took a few days to kick in, but NOW I’m feeling that extra 400 mg. of FA (Fast Acting) Guaifenesin that I added in to my daily Guaifenesin Protocol dosage.
If you’re willing to put up with some extra heavy duty pain, you can increase your dosage by adding in some Fast Acting (FA) Guai, to your regular Long Acting (LA) Guai dosage.
So, I still have to take my regular dosage-- that doesn’t change, 600 mg. of the Long Acting MDR (Marina del Ray) dye-free Guai twice daily.
The Long Acting works well because it stays in your system all day long, forcing your system to constantly work at clearing out the excess calcium phosphate.
But, you can also force your body to do a bit of “extra credit” by plugging some “Fast Acting” Guai in there, and your body will do some quick bursts of clearing. It hurts like hell, but it is a way to get through the protocol faster.
Now, as the admins on our support group remind us constantly, “this is a marathon, not a sprint.”
And, “it took years to get this sick, so it will take time to get well.”
But, at the moment, my husband is off from work for two weeks, which is a very rare occurence. I have extra help at home with everything from making my son’s lunch in the morning, to all the household chores, to, well, just about everything. So, I can afford to basically put my body into pain overdrive for two weeks.
It’s very unpleasant at the moment-- my back and head are especially tender and painful, but I’m doing it for a reason.... I feel like I’m getting very close to finally clearing my T4/T5 area in my back. This area has caused me problems for many years, and I think this may be one of the triggers for my headaches.
If I could just get this area to “clear,” and stop going into fibro-related muscle spasms, well, then I won’t have so many headaches all the time.
At least, that’s my plan.
I just have to get through this pain...
I wish I had some painkillers-- at this point, I would even settle for Ultram, which I despise because it always makes me feel sick, loopey and high. But, at least it would take the edge off the pain. I guess I could call my doctor and request some, but at the moment, we don’t have health insurance. (My husband is between jobs.) I thought I made still have some tucked back somewhere in the kitchen cabinet, but I must have thrown it out, last time I got disgusted with the stuff.
Well, at the moment, I’ve got hot rice packs on the back of my head and my back. The heat feels very, very soothing. I wish I could walk around all day with these things stuck to the back of my head.
Well, hopefully this plan will work. I’ll keep you posted.
It’s amazing how just 400 mg. of extra Guai hits the entire body. I tried riding my bike the other day, thinking I might start biking with Alex to school again. My legs hurt so much that I couldn’t even make it to the end of the block and back. In the fall, on my regular dosage, I was riding my bike four miles a day. I won’t say those four miles were always pain-free, but at least, I could do it. Now, I don’t even feel like I could do it at all-- I could not even make it to the school-- not towing the bike trailer behind me, (an extra 50 pounds of weight. It’s a mile each way, and all uphill going there.)
