Here are photos from the Sommerfest/Oxroast/GermanFest at my parent’s German Club in Putnam Valley, New York.  And, a few other pics thrown in for good measure...

These family get-togethers are very important to all of us, especially in light of Mike’s cancer, (spinal chondrosarcoma.)  Mike is still recovering from his latest two cancer surgeries in April, and this past week, a CAT scan revealed a new tumor in the same location.  Mike will have surgery on his neck again tomorrow, This is his 10th or 11th surgery, I think.  This cancer just won’t go away, and Mike is still so thin and weakened from his last two surgeries.  Everytime I hug him, and say good bye, I worry I am not going to see him on my next trip to New York.  I wish there was more I could do.
OXROAST
Family dinner at Mom’s (not Ox)
Hey, come to the Oxroast in Putnam Valley.
The accordion guy (I liked him. Band was too loud.)
My oldest brother Mike, and his girlfriend, Suzy
Mike has the best hats. Suzy looked lovely in her dirndl.
My brother Chris, and his two future stepkids
Brother Chris and his fiancee Brenda
Alex in the bounce house, loves to bounce
Mike helping the kids at ring toss, (you win wine.)
I adore this lady, Marianne. She’s a great person.
Alex and Zach burning brain cells on Zach’s Wii
My Dad and my brother Chris (yeah, we all look alike)
My nieces, Gabrielle and Leilani
Mom and I wearing  traditional dirndels. Alex in lederhosen.
Alex, back at home, dreaming up a Lego creation
His Lego stuff is really fun
His designs are getting increasingly complex
Alex went out for a crab dinner with his grandparents, (no ox) :)
He created this one over breakfast.
I think this one was some kind of troop carrier...
