Jewelry inspired by the Greek filakto. Ancient Greek art and the Greek filakto are some of the inspirations for my designs, the rest is how it feels on my skin. The "filakto" is basically a talisman, which traditionally is pinned to a child's clothing to protect against the evil eye. I make these talismans and insert a seed pit or pebbles from the beautiful beaches of Greece. They are wrapped and sewn inside of each necklace as a reminder of our divinity. Each piece is handcrafted using natural and recycled materials. The necklaces are made from vintage fabrics, silks, gemstones, precious metals, seeds, pebbles, seashells and recycled leather.
