My work has been changing gradually for the past four years.  This change has been reinforced by my interest in experimentation, with new materials, new techniques, and my constant love for painting.  I find myself in a search of a comfortable place were representational and formal elements will work and interact with the same importance on the picture plane.

Painting requires a great deal of time. The more I paint the more I realize the length of the journey ahead.  As I paint, formal concerns seem to vanish and reappear on a daily basis.  Repetition, patterns grids, surface treatments, color relationships, and spatial relationships, they seem like pieces of a puzzle.  A puzzle with multiple solutions, a puzzle that changes as I change, a puzzle that that can be frustrating, nurturing, agonizing and rewarding, all in the same day.
