Still Ranting
Still Ranting
If you’ve been to this site more than once in the last 6 months, then you know it’s been anything than highly dynamic. Which is particularly disappointing since I pretty much promised just that when I last posted a Welcome, last January. As with most things, there is usually a rational explanation. Apologies for the excuses to follow:
As noted in the last Welcome post, there were technical difficulties to overcome — I thought I had all that sorted at that point, but it might not have been entirely true. Progress continues. There were a few health issues to deal with — thankfully nothing serious, but distractions none-the-less. There are the demands, and just the simple joy, of parenthood — and that might be one of the bigger time thieves, but one I wouldn’t trade for anything. I also found myself reconnecting with a lot of friends and acquaintances on facebook — a fun distraction. More recently I’ve been spending a significant amount of time on flickr — which I’ve posted about here. And finally, there were trips taken and visitors visiting — some of which has also surfaced briefly on this site. That sums that up.
Where are we going?
We’ve been house shopping in earnest and though that has taken time and energy, I expect it will take far more time once we actually have a house to move into. Home ownership will also give me something else to write about. In the intervening months I’ve continued to give thought, if not actual words yet, on some of the various other types of posts that may appear here in the coming months so watch out for those.
We’ll be taking another trip to Japan soon to visit with family. I love these trips not only for the relaxing time away, but also for the wealth of photo opportunities and inspiration that come with it. I hope to make some posts in the course of our trip, in a real effort to get things happening here again.
Hopefully in the coming weeks you’ll check back. As always, your comments are paramount to my continued efforts. Please let me know what you like, don’t like, wish to see, or just say hi. Or, you could always just email me directly (by clicking on the Mail button below). As much as I enjoy writing this blog, without your comments I may as well be speaking to an empty room — and that’s not really much fun at all.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Where have we been?
A lot of my photographic work in the last 6 months has been editing older photos, planning books and web galleries, and sorting through thousands of photos of our daughter, Hana to share with family and friends. That’s kept posts here down a bit. There is work I hope to share soon, particularly from some recent travels, with a couple of previews above.
