The Rescue Ultralight
Delivering Emergency First Aid
Ultralight aircraft possess unique qualities that make them ideal to deliver emergency supplies.  No other aircraft combines portability, short field performance, low capital and operational costs including servicing.

Compact and Transportable
Ultralight aircraft are simple to assemble into compact form and are easily transportable by cargo aircraft.  Ultralghts can be reassembled and operational in less than two hours.  A fleet of fifteen ultralight aircrafts, pilots, and eight tons of emergency supplies can all safely fit into a standard cargo aircraft.

Performance
Ultralight aircraft have excellent short field performance. Most ultralight aircraft can take off or land in less than sixty metres.  Their steep climb rate makes them suited to small fields – a soccer field will do.  Ultralight aircraft generally carry about three hours worth of fuel.

Capital and Operational Costs
Certified ultralight aircraft can be purchased for less than $30,000.  A fleet of 50 could be purchased for less than a single turbine helicopter such as a Bell Jetranger.

Payloads
An ultralight aircraft can carry a pilot, fuel, and 250 lbs of cargo which may include water, food, blankets, and first aid among many other possible life saving supplies.  The ultralight can also be used to airlift a patient to safety.
