In this video you will see Bill Lishman fly into and above a landing area, deploy the cargo pod, and then climb again into the air without the wheels of the ultralight aircraft touching the ground.
The drop mechanism has been designed so that the pilot’s hands are available to control the aircraft while at the same time releasing the cargo pod. Experienced ultralight pilots who have flown the concept aircraft shown in the above video and performed a cargo drop have attested to the ease with which the cargo can be dropped while flying the aircraft.
