Mervine Longhi Lauer
While I lived in San Francisco at 552 Ashbury St., three doors down from the corner of Haight and Ashbury, the basement of our house became a hotbed for wacky improvised jams with many local musicians. These usually included my roommates Jon; Mervine; and M, who always had a synthesizer sound or a sample to add to our grungy rock and roll sludge. Here is an example of the mayhem going on in SF in 1992 just a few doors down from where the Grateful Dead began all of their hippie hoopla.
