•	Worked with Finnish hospital clown organization to audition, train, and consult regarding new casting for expansion of their five year-old program.
•	Led workshops in clowning, character/persona refinement, and improvisation in master class for all members of the company.

North Carolina School of the Arts		Winston-Salem, NC

Guest Instructor		2003-Present
Part-time faculty in summer program, teaching Circus skills for three weeks of the five-week program for high school and college-age students.  Juggling, equilibristics, related physical skills. 

Atlanta International School		Atlanta, GA

Guest Artist		1999-Present
Annually teach multi-week residencies to International Baccalaureate students, customized for their needs and the IB curriculum.  Topics covered have included clowning, movement, mask making and performance; and stylistic adaptation; Specialized IB Classes in World Cultures (Commedia dell’arte, Beckett) and directing students in final projects.
International Schools Theatre Association Conference	2000, 2006
As guest artist/instructor, presented an original commedia dell’arte show (La Commedia Sprezzatura) for an international audience of theater educators and their I.B. program students.
Taught a correlative workshop on movement, mask, and clowning.

Responsible for educational aspect of the GSF college intern company.  Trained the company in an intensive program of theory and practice of traditional clowning techniques and other movement-oriented performance styles.
Built ensemble of four to six actors (undergraduate and graduate students), developed three shows per season which were presented as pre-show entertainment on the Festival grounds. Also adapted and directed Shakespeare scenes and plays for young audiences presentation, “Camp Shakespeare.”
Was named an Artistic Associate of the Festival in 1995, in recognition of my contributions to the body of the Festival’s work as Pre-Show director.

Taught intensive clowning workshops in clowning (conservatory) and in political and historical context of commedia dell’arte performance vis a vis Shakespeare (teacher training)

Taught workshops to high school students in the honor society, and their teachers, including:
Clowning as a Theatrical Style—an introduction to the art and performance of clowning.
An Actor’s Approach to Shakespeare—explored with students the ways in which William Shakespeare wrote for actors, and the acting clues he gives in his texts.
Puppetry—an introduction to the art of puppetry; aesthetics and practical applications
Status—introduction to concept of status-related interactions in theater, and in general. Augmented by theater games based on Keith Johnstone’s Impro.

Performed as puppeteer on camera in several principal roles for award-winning educational programs
As head writer, supervised team of three writers, and reported to Executive Producer of Emmy –award-winning Spanish Language distance-learning program.
Also responsible for coordinating story development and execution, and adhering to strict curriculum and vocabulary requirements; served as staff liaison to educational consultants.

As part of the Center’s family series, performed in a variety of puppetry styles, including hand-and-rod, Czech black, and shadow.
In 1997, served as artistic liaison for Xperimental Puppetry Theater series participants.  
Along with Producer, screened applicants and oversaw production schedules of five projects

Adapted Machiavelli’s The Prince as a satirical Punch-and-Judy-style puppet show.
Received the highest grant amount for that year’s series.
Was chosen and sponsored by the Center for submission to the Henson Festival, 
New York.

La Commedia Sprezzatura		Atlanta, GA

Creator, Director		1997-Present
Original educational commedia dell’arte performance, with audience members enlisted to play the masks and lovers.
Presented at numerous venues around the Southeast, including:  
Young Audiences of Atlanta—touring roster for performances in schools around the city of Atlanta.
Alabama Shakespeare Festival—featured performances as part of the ASF Shakespeare Renaissance Faire. 
Chattanooga School of the Arts—as part of multidisciplinary study of commedia dell’arte and linkage to contemporary culture. 

Il Teatro Machiavelli		Atlanta, GA

Creator, Director		2002-Present
Solo show, combining La Commedia Sprezzatura, and The Prince into a comic full-length Dario-Fo style treatise on power, popular performance traditions; with open discussion (and sometimes riots) to follow.
