Welcome to Dave Collins Art.  I hope you enjoy the images on this site and perhaps find something that will touch your heart.  I am a self taught artist who began painting at an early age.  I sold a few pieces when I was in high school but never gave fine art a serious consideration.  I just didn’t have confidence in my abilities.

I entered the Young Life ministry in 1977 and found myself devoted to working with High School kids, a growing family, and all the responsibilities associated with each.  My creative outlets turned to photography since I could use that in my work; however, when our son was very young, he asked that I paint him a picture as a wedding gift when he got married.  After a 25 year absence from the brushes, I wrote a poem and painted a scene illustrating the thoughts I wanted to express to this precious couple.  My sweet daughter got married a year later.    Wanting to give them part of myself, I did the painting above for them as well.

Through the encouragement of friends, family and a couple of professional artists who had seen the painting I did for my daughter and her husband, I began to paint seriously again.  I have attended workshops to perfect my craft and hope to build a body of work that is excellent and that will be a source of enjoyment flowing from what God has created.  My goal is to bring the beauty of the creation and its Creator into homes by putting on canvas the incredible color and design we find all around us.
