How do we as parents most enjoy our babies while taking on the awesome responsibility of raising them. How do we help our little ones realize all the hopes and dreams we have for them and that they will eventually have for themselves. What “gifts” could I provide to give her the best possible start?

There seem to be so many variables that go into providing the very best foundations. The research is clear: it is not one piece of the puzzle such as genes, parenting or the environment but the dynamic interplay among them all -- with us parents in the central role of orchestrating it through our continually evolving relationship with our child. We are told that we are the first and most important teacher in our child’s life and all the wonderful things we wish for our child do not have to be left to chance.

So what do we do? This web site is dedicated to figuring out how to best take on this joyous but heavy responsibility:

-to figure out what really matters,  (What)

-to put into practice what we know; see what works and what does not in day to day practice. (How)

- to always keep in mind the so what. (Why)

I hope you will join me in sharing our experiences and thoughts about raising our children.

I have organized the site & blog by age. So jump in at your child’s current age (click on menu in left column):

Enjoying Whitney while providing the best possible start

The excitement and joy of having a new member of the family and the big challenge: How do I provide her the best possible start-- what really matters as foundations for her learning & development.
