In an effort to promote growth and economic development. The city of Anderson, Alaska has implemented a free land incentive. We have up to 26 free lots available in our new Northern Lights subdivision. These are large wooded 1.3 acre lots with electric and phone lines ready for you to hook into.
The City of Anderson has a simple straight forward set of requirements and qualifications.
1. Homes must be new construction.
2. All homes must be on a full foundation, whether stick-built or modular. No single wide mobile homes. 3. A person or persons interested in acquiring any lot or lots owned by the city and made available under this program shall file an application on a form to be supplied by the city with the City Clerk. A refundable deposit of $500.00 will be required at the time of application. 4. Applications will be selected on a first come, first serve basis that have a submitted a completed application and deposit. The application will be date and time stamped upon receipt by the City Clerk. City council will approve the applications based upon this order. Applicant must either be present or via phone at the lot selection meeting. 5. The deed of trust shall contain a covenant that within two years, construction of the house shall be completed and the applicant must obtain a certificate of occupancy by an approved inspector and if any of said conditions are not met, the property shall revert to the city. 6. Applications for construction of a multi-family home must be approved by the city council. City council will approve multi-family homes on an individual case by case basis. 7. A $ 500.00 refundable deposit is required at the time of application submission. If the applicant does not enter into an agreement the deposit will be refunded. If the applicant signs an agreement and does not comply with the covenant requirements, applicant forfeits the deposit.
