Don & Barbara Kassebaum

Gifts of Love International was founded by Don and Barb Kassebaum from St. Louis, Missouri. Their vision for many years has been to help the poor and needy around the world. The early years of teaching their 6 children the ways of God became the preparation time for the work that would eventually be theirs. From 1980 to 1990 Don and Barb worked to start a pet products manufacturing company which their sons now completely oversee. Don’s total vision for beginning the company was to one day be set free to serve God full time helping the poor and needy of the world. They first began to travel into Guatemala in 1988 taking aid to the poor. In 1994 they sent their first forty foot container, filled with furniture, books, computers, clothing, shoes, toys and many other household items. Each year the work continued to grow; sending out 20 forty foot containers in a single year. By God’s direction, this work ended in 2004 and they began raising up churches in Guatemala.

In 2006 they had a vision to begin a work for widows and street children. In June of 2007, they purchased 26 acres of land in Guatemala and began building the first fourteen room house including 5 1/2 baths on the land. Today the property is ready to house abused children and widows without a home.

Don and Barb continue to travel primarily into Guatemala, and oversee 30 churches and 3 ministries which include 2 programs for Widows and Street children and a Drug & Rehabilitation Center.

In Guatemala the two of them have traveled into the interior parts of the country bringing God’s word and resources to many A word that Don and Barb hold on to is: “He who gathers a little by little makes it grow.” He structures his life after the small beginnings. They know that all that they do has been given to them by the inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit. Don and Barb don’t seem to be afraid to tackle anything if they are sure that God has spoken to them or led them to do it.
