The Celica GT4 and then the Escort GT were sold and after many months research we invested in a new Honda Integra Type-R. This car gave the correct combination of looks, performance, four seats and price, an added bonus of being a Low Emissions Vehicle (LEV).

 

This was one of the best cars I’ve ever owned, awesome handling, good brakes (not as good as the TR7 V8), great sound at 8000 rpm but at home doing the shopping or taking friends to the movies. As close to my ideal car as it’s possible to get.

 

Twenty years ago the guy who stole it would have had his legs broken, alas now all I can do is shout at the insurance company for paying out ‘market value’ after a year of ownership. Strange, I thought we insured things so we could replace them, obviously not.
