I never found the companion that was companionable as solitude. -Henry David Thoreau  Lake Abanakee is located in the village of Indian Lake in the heart of New York State’s Adirondack park. This national treasure stands today as a 6 million acre natural sanctuary, the largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska and is one of the most successful conservation efforts in history. The Adirondacks are within an easy day’s drive of most major cities in the Northeast. The two bedroom lake front camp is fully equipped and comfortably furnished. One bedroom has a full bed and bunk beds, the other has a full bed. Over 100 feet of sandy beach that has a gradual slope into the water is perfect for the kids and the boat is great for the fisherman. Enjoy some of the best bird-watching, white water rafting, and hiking in the Adirondacks. Visit the Adirondack Museum, spend the day in Lake George or just sit back and relax on the beach listening to the loons. Rental rates are: June: $140 per night ( 2 night minimum ) July thru August: $1,100 per week Saturday to Saturday After Labor Day: $115 per night ( 2 night minimum ) Check in is 2pm and check out is 10am. To rent the cottage a deposit of $250 is required to hold the date and a separate $200 security deposit is required (to be retuned at the end of the rental date). The remaining $850 is required 1 month before the rental date. Rental Policy is if you cancel one month before your rental date we will refund your deposit. After that date your deposit will be refunded if we re-rent the cabin.
