The Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra was formed in 2004 and incorporated as a non-profit association in August 2006. The Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra (JMO) provides a platform for Australian Jazz Orchestra composers to have their works rehearsed, recorded, published and performed. The Orchestra presents world class performances of Jazz Orchestral Music and is actively engaged in further developing Jazz Orchestra or Big Band as a viable artform within Australia. The JMO is rapidly becoming a peak Australian ensemble that contributes to the cultural fabric of Australia, and in doing so provides exceptional composers and performers opportunities to further develop their audiences. The JMO also presents National Tours with exceptional International Guest Artists, therefore developing international partnerships and enhancing the reputation of Australian music, as the flagship of the Jazz Orchestra genre within Australia.
