Creative Control In Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Camera RAW

Learn how to:

1. • Improve captured image quality
   

2. • Control color from capture to print 
   

3. • Analyze an image, and then shape it to fit your creative vision!
   

4. •Learn in detail the use of Photoshop filters, presets, and adjustment layers. Customize tonal values, image density, highlight and shadow details, etc. Demonstrated using three examples: still life, landscape, and portrait images
   

5. •Why you should edit your images in Photoshop in “preview” or “soft proofing” mode – and how to create color-accurate previews that can help you pick the best paper for your image.
   

6. •How to handle color-to-Black & White conversions during image editing, and how to produce Black and White inkjet prints that can equal or exceed the quality of darkroom prints.
   

7. •Judging image quality of proof prints and final prints– plus methods for preventing defects, and techniques for quality corrections and adjustments.
   

8. •How to ensure that you get a good screen-to-print match, and how to keep your screen and printer on track for consistent color month after month, year after year.
   

9. •Maximizing print quality through software settings and adjustments. This includes but is not limited to proper use of ICC profiles

11. Class size is limited. Students are encouraged to bring a laptop computer, and Photoshop CS4 is preferred (you can obtain a 30 day free trial version from Adobe.com)
    

12. Fee is $95 in advance, plus $25 lab fee for printmaking. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged; basic fee increases to $125 at the door, space permitting.
