In Feb of 2007 and March of 2008, I made trips into southern Sudan and Darfur to gather stories of those who have survived the war. I met orphans whose parents had been slaughtered, men whose homes had been burnt down, and mothers who were raped and then helplessly watched their children be abducted. The remnant of the war leaves behind a variety of tribes who congregate into refugee camps, unified by one thing...fear. Yet, they do not run in fear, they run for freedom.
