The “Loons of the Adirondacks” gathered the first week in September at Blue Mountain Lake, NY for a week of paddling. All the participants, members of the Chesapeake Paddler’s Association (CPA,) hail from the Washington D.C. area -- with the exception of two from New York and one from Ottawa.  On the way north, five Loons stopped at my house in Palisades, NY for dinner and a pre-paddling trip on the Hudson. Unfortunately, with the remnants of Tropical Storm Ernesto, we cancelled paddling on the Hudson and drank a boatload of wine and scotch instead.
 
This was the third season of the “Loons of the Adirondacks” and my second season.
