Journey to Africa

A delegation of faculty and staff from the Harvard School of Public Health visited 2 African countries (Uganda and Tanzania) from January 18-27, 2008.

The purpose of our trip was to answer the following question:  Is it time for an epidemiological research effort on a global scale, focusing on the health problems of the lower and middle income countries? In particular, should there be an African Cohort?

Included on the trip were: Hans-Olov Adami,

Walter Willett,

Wafaie Fawzi,

David Hunter,

Michelle Holmes,

Michelle Coleman,

David Havelick,

Elizabeth Devore,

Pamela Waterman,

Hannah Kuper,
and Mark Seielstad.
