Brothers...

My wife said something really profound the other day. Not that this is an unusual occurrence, mind you. But, that’s another blog.

She said this... ‘Do you know how you can guarantee not becoming homeless (or as close to guarantee as anything in this life...)?’ I said, “No, how do you guarantee that?” “Be a part of a church-- I mean really be a part of a church.”

I got to thinking about that, and I thought- ‘you know, she’s right.’

This reality hit me again this past week- or rather the framework that makes what my wife said, true. That in the church we have sisters and brothers. We have family.

The above pic is of our oldest and youngest supporting each other, looking out at something awfully big and scary. And one, through his support, giving the other the courage to step into it.

I’ve been fortunate within the past year, to be introduced to several kindred souls, through my rather intermittent blogging,  and rambling comments. As I reflected a bit on the past year of  blog 137 (one yr anni next week), It occurred to me that discovering and building those relationships has been the highlight.

And that is something for which I am truly grateful.

You know who you are. Thanks.

God is good, all the time.
