the Facility

                History & Development-
HLM Studios is a recording and mixing studio built to accommodate the needs of artists. First opened in Nashville TN June 2000 as credence for a growing composition studio for scoring plays and film, HLM (and its mascot Happy) is an identity that is synonymous with quality, creativity, professionalism and quick turn-around time.

The studio has grown from my private creative domain to a multi-artist space for collaboration to a full-fledged facility. Now able to record solo writers and performers to bands, HLM Studios is also known as a quality mix down resource.

                Mission Statement-
HLM Studios strives to provide quality recordings and to treat clients in a professional manner at all levels of budget from the college student to national corporate clients.

Where We Are and Where We Want To Go-
In 2005, HLM Studios has moved from Nashville TN to Fargo ND and is experiencing growing pains. The studio is awaiting the finishing of a 1250 sq. ft. facility with state of the art studio accommodations. It is due to open before Spring of 2007.

                Products & Services-
In moving to Fargo, I have noticed that there are no other recording studios catering to bands or writers. I personally have called the two largest studios in town in February 2006 to book time with them, and have yet to hear back from them. HLM Studios believes in prompt and courteous response and can provide the much needed service of remote OR studio recording.

I believe in the necessity of this service in a community that has a jazz group, a symphony, three colleges within a 10 mile radius, and an appreciation for the arts. Every community needs a historian to record (literally & figuratively) its artistic contributions from individuals and groups alike. HLM Studios would like to be a contributor to this legacy.

That all said, the main reason for opening this facility to the public is to provide what I needed as a budding artist - a studio full of people and equipment to help guide me to become the best overall artist I could be.

We don’t just slam you in and start the clock (unless that’s what you are prepared to do), we always do a pre-flight interview so that our engineers, producers and the artist all understand what is necessary for a great session.

After all, isn’t that why they cal it PLAYing music?

Please contact us for more information on equipment, rates and booking times available.
