Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival
June 23-25, 2006

A non-traditional approach . . .
Welcome to the Chattanooga Dulcimer Festival
. . . to traditional instruments.
“Fun, Energetic, Informative” “Super Cool!”
“Lots of Fun and Energy, Very Encouraging Even for us Novices!”
“Wonderful” “Excellent, and Awesome Concerts!”
“Tons of Fun, Well Organized, and in a Beautiful Place” “Fantastic!”

Those were just a few of the comments received on the 2005 festival review forms and are in large part why we’re doing it all again.
The 2006 CDF site will again be the Mountain Arts Community Center (MACC) which is just seven miles from downtown Chattanooga. The classrooms are large and the auditorium is a pie shaped room with sloped wood floors and a classic 1930's style stage and seating. For more information on this historic building click here.
Bring your family and have some fun! We’re including a free ticket to the Tennessee Aquarium with each paid registration and have made arrangements for discounts on additional tickets.

We are thrilled to have Mark Wade, Randy Clepper, Butch Ross, and Christie Burns returning to teach and perform. Additional instructors this year are Lee Rowe, Stephen Humphries and Marcy Prochaska.
Remember, the focus of this festival is technique. You may learn a tune along the way, but the objective is to learn the techniques that will make you a better player. We received positive reviews on our team-teaching approach last year and plan to use that method this year. We also heard your requests for some free time to practice and work with instructors in a less structured setting, so we’ve included afternoon open instruction/jam times which are explained further on the daily schedules. Click Here for instructor provided sheet music links.
We’ll order sub sandwiches for lunch again each day and enjoy entertainment in the cafe by Marcy Prochaska on Friday and Stephen Humphries on Saturday.
The Friday and Saturday night concerts should be a real treat. On Friday night Butch Ross and Christie Burns will play songs from their new CD “Here to Play” and the evening will be capped by a performance by national mountain dulcimer champion Lee Rowe.
Saturday night’s concert will take place at the Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church on James Blvd., which is a short walking distance from the MACC. The concert will showcase Mark Alan Wade, Randy Clepper, Stephen Humphries, and will be capped by a performance by ZitherjaZ which includes Dan Landrum, Steve Phillips, Alan Shikoh and Matt Broom.
