SLO High School - SAN LUIS OBISPO
At half-time of the game against Vegas, I started thinking about the award ceremony.
When it arrived, it was different than expected. Instead of the ubiquitous “ole” cheer, or the hysterical euphoria, we had quiet girls laying on the grass, soaking in the sun.
At the ceremony, my best line was about the irony of the Cosmos ending all games 1-0. In this tournament, the Cosmos finished first in points, with 38 out of a possible 40, and a cumulative margin of 20 goals to 2.
Check the twitter history for details, but bro, the offense was there. Julia and Julia were cooking goals from left and right, sometimes sharing the ball in between.
In game #3, Sunday morning vs. San Ramon, the Cosmos had to fight a little. The Blue Crush skilled players were a threat, and almost scored twice on close plays near the goal. The Cosmos were thankful to get by 3-1, and clinch first in points.
Other notables from this tournament:
The Bounds Ranch - Classic ranch living. Dark wood trim, land, animals, entertaining large amounts of people. A shower with the fullest pressure.
The Niners played Friday night and beat the Broncos, coming back in the 4th quarter.
Game #1 - Central Heat only had 9 players, but I watched them throughout the tournament, and they showed tremendous heart and speed. In this game, Mel scored 2...accumulating a streak of 4 goals in 3 games. ended a 6-0 final.
Game #2 - SLO FIRE, 8-1 final, Arturo moving Julia B to the right side...she blew-up and scored 4 goals.
BBQ - margaritas, top sirloin, beans, mac salad, garlic bread, nubbs cigars...wine
Game #4 - Vegas Premier - physical game, 3-0 final, Izzie had about 4 or 5 slide tackles that weren’t fouls, moving the crowd with fancy footwork to end the game.
