The Chindit opened in 1958 and as far as we know is the only pub called so.
It was named after the British Army Regiment - see the history section. It was originally a Butlers off-licence, but because of new housing in the area a licence was applied for, and the building altered to create a bar, smoke room
and children’s room (closed). The tree in the car park at the rear has gone but the stump still remains!
The pub is a friendly corner ale house with a variety of five changing hand pulled beers.
Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Wye Valley Hereford Pale Ale and Enville Ale are the usual,
Titanic from Stoke-on-Trent is also another regular visitor along with a changing guest.
We pride ourselves on our achievement to be the only public house in
Wolverhampton to be Cask Marque Accredited for SIX consecutive years.
We are now a full member of the British Institute of Innkeepers.
We are also a supporter of SIBA ~ The Society of Independent Brewers.
