credits: the album features a whole host of samples from a variety of sources, and is in many ways a scrapbook of influences:

people of earth: features dialogue from 'captain scarlet and the mysterons' by gerry anderson (for more information about the series click here, or to buy the series on DVD click here), and samples from the ep 'another mellow summer' by mellow

huge pteradactyls: features dialogue from the audio book of 'fear and loathing in las vegas' by hunter s. thompson (click here for more information) and samples from 'the exotic moods of les baxter'

Several years back I did a video course at Oxford Film and Video Makers, and we put together a video for huge pteradactyls, which can now be enjoyed here (many thanks to Dave Wright for digging this out, digitising it, and putting it up on youtube):

a million stars: features dialogue the radio broadcast of john glenn's 'friendship 7' space flight (click here to read more about this) and samples from 'same old blues' by captain beefheart and the magic band (from the album 'blue jeans and moonbeams')

the sleeper must awaken: features dialogue from David Lynch's film version of 'Dune' by Frank Herbert (click here to purchase a copy of this excellent cult classic on DVD)

time to die: continues the science fiction theme with dialogue from ridley scott's 'blade runner' (click here for the dvd), as well as 'the big lebowski', with samples taken from 'the old laughing lady' by neil young (from the album 'decade')

strange love (parts 1 & 2): features dialogue samples from the film 'Dr Strangelove' (click here for the dvd), and was written in response to a house mate's challenge to write something 'commercial' (resulting in failure and a radio-friendly 12 minutes in length)

the cybermen: as you might have guessed, features dialogue from Dr Who (click here to read more about this classic bbc series, if you don't already know about it), with samples coming from the album 's.f. sorrow' by the pretty things

in space no-one can hear you howl: is a short interlude, included here as it follows on nicely from the cybermen, featuring a sample from Howlin' Wolf

fellow necromaniacs: features the voice of alfred hitchcock and samples from 'little miss lover' by the jimi hendrix experience (from the album 'axis bold as love')

a dozen transatlantic flights: features dialogue from the film 'withnail & I' (click here for the dvd) and samples from 'the exotic moods of les baxter'

unfolding elastic inevitable: is another short interlude, and features dialogue from 'star trek' (for the original series on dvd click here) and samples from 'last man at the bar' by the elastic band

que pasa: features samples from 'the exotic moods of les baxter' and 'ussr repertoire' by dj vadim

the mystery of mysteries: rounds off the album and again includes dialogue from david lynch's 'dune', along with a sample taken from 'for a few dollars more'

finally, the picture at the top of this page is taken from the excellent series of graphic novels, 'y: the last man'
