On behalf of Jim Porter, we are raising funds for a transplant. As many of you know, Jim has had heart problems for the last 20 years. His heart has weakened due to congestive heart failure, and other organs are now being affected. This means that a heart transplant is vital, and the only cure.
The past several years have been devastating to his family financially. It is crucial that we raise funds to help pay for the transplant process that Medicare does not cover. These costs include: high-risk insurance payments, travel, meals & lodging during the waiting and post-surgery periods in Madison, and care for his daughter and home in Georgia while his wife is in Madison with him. The recovery and adjustment period can take up to 12 months, but there is no guarantee. Jim's goal is to once again provide for his family within a year of surgery. However, because of lifting restrictions, he will no longer be able to do furniture restoration, and there will be costs associated with job re-training.
If you feel able to contribute, you may send money to jim@jimporter.us through paypal.com or you can send funds to Brokaw Credit Union.
