HOT WATER - Paintings, Pastries and Tea
Dallywater’s Tea Room & Art Gallery is the Finger Lakes premier destination for fine teas and decadent pastries and, beginning September 26, it is also the venue for a new exhibition of paintings and drawings by Kevin Harwood. Surprising. Inspiring. Appetizing. Visitors will have the opportunity to indulge mind, body and spirit while enjoying the magical combination of original works of art, mouth-watering pastries, and perfectly prepared gourmet teas.
The Naples Valley has long been a creative muse for many artists, and Harwood is no exception. “The Finger Lakes, and the Naples Valley in particular, inspire me to look beyond that which is merely seen. Within the dramatic landscapes, the colorful characters, the history and the beauty, there is an energy and emotion that influences the way I interpret each subject.” he explains. “Although my work has roots in realism, it often leans toward surrealism, and I find myself being excited by ideas that transform the everyday into something with more of a bite to it.”
The exhibition, Hot Water - Paintings, Pastries and Tea, can be seen at Dallywater’s Tea Room & Art Gallery from September 26 through October 31. With over 30 original works, many never exhibited before, Harwood provides a unique look at Naples, its people, hills and valley.
