Telepresence technology has matured a great deal since I shot this footage in the early 1990’s.  Note the remotely operated vehicle has binocular vision attached to a pan and tilt platform which is operated by the driver on the surface.  A robotic arm also provides a means to pick up objects or carry items underwater.
