Just a few hundred meters off Moss Landing in about 120 ft of water, one may encounter large sharks that move from the depths of the Monterey Canyon into shallower waters. Often these are Prickly Sharks (ECHINORHINUS COOKEI). This footage was obtained during a dive to search for tags previously placed upon some of the sharks as part of a research effort by scientists at the Moss Landing Marine Lab aimed at better understanding their ecology.
