Normally getting out of a dive hole is not too difficult.  But in the late summer when the ice has candled it is a bit trickier.  Doc Simmons and Bob Wharton are standing just to the side of the hole, but must be careful that they do not fall in.  Dale has to come up through a thick layer of  brash ice and then get onto the solid surface of the lake.....with a little help from his friends!
