Professor Thomas G. Masaryk came to Chicago on his way to Washington DC. 150,000 filled the streets – a celebration of Chicago and Czechoslovakia.
Five months later, the dream came true, and the First Republic of Czechoslovakia - supported by Chicago and Chicagoans, joined the community of nations.
This May, we’re saluting that relationship and celebrating the birth of a new nation.
