Ok, poodles aren’t exactly grabbing all the headlines today.
But again this year, a toy poodle was #1 in the Toy Group at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. The toy poodle edged out a Brussels Griffon, a Havanese, and a Pug for that title.
Unfortunately, a poodle didn’t win the overall prize of Best in Show, although two poodles gave it their best shot.
This year’s top-dog spot belongs to Uno, the beagle. This was the first time ever that a beagle has won Best in Show.
An Associated Press article says, “Uno celebrated by chewing on the microphones of reporters who tried to interview his winning crew. Those had to suffice for the yellow, soft duck that's his favorite toy.
"He's perfect, he was a 10," Jones said. "He does cuteness well."
